LISA MARIE MILLER

September 21, 1971 — September 9, 2008

LISA MARIE MILLER, resident of Memphis and former resident of the Oakland Community, went home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2008. She was 36 years of age and died unexpectedly.

Funeral services for Ms. Miller were conducted at 3 P.M. Saturday, October 4th at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with the Rev. Steve Dacus of Gallaway officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Richie Askew of the Warren Community. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

Ms. Miller was born September 21, 1991 in Cherry Point, North Carolina, the daughter of Priscilla Allen Miller and Arthur Joseph "Jody" Miller, Jr. She moved at an early age with her family to Fayette County and was educated in the Fayette County Public School System. Ms. Miller was a Christian and was employed as Assistant Manager by the Circle K Shell Convenience Store on Highway 70 in Shelby County.

She had been a member of the Rainbow Girls organization of the Raleigh Masonic Lodge and was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter at Whiteville. She will be remembered as a polite, caring person who enjoyed humor and a beloved daughter, mother, sister and friend.

Survivors of Ms. Miller include her daughter, Ashley Dureen Miller of Oakland; her son, Thomas Oren Miller of Oakland; her mother, Priscilla Allen Miller of Oakland; her father, Arthur J. "Jody" Miller, Jr. of Hickory Withe and her sister, Jodie Ann Miller of Memphis.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Richie Askew, Bubba Boswell, Isiah Buntyn, Todd Clark, R. J. Maturen and Phillip Walton.
